Hit and run suspect sought in deadly crash

St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Pete Police detectives are asking for the public's help locating a man wanted in connection with the hit and run crash that killed 81-year-old Tomas Melendez on June 4.

Investigators say they believe it was 22-year-old Keith Hamm that was driving the rented silver Nissan Altima that crashed into the Toyota Camry that Melendez was a passenger in at the intersection of 15th Avenue South and 25th Street, and then fled the area on foot.

Hamm has prior arrests for carrying a concealed firearm and home invasion robbery, and was just released from prison in February of this year.

St. Petersburg Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating Hamm.
