Serial robber strikes fourth store in less than 24 hours

Clearwater police are looking for this man in connection with several robberies.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- Another Clearwater area convenience store was robbed by an individual wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

Clearwater Police Department said it appears to be the same individual who struck three times on Monday at the Speedway at 2185 Drew Street and the R&S Market Deli at 2645 State Road 590 within the span of eight hours.

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said that the suspect is connected to an attempted robbery at the JK Food Store at 2468 Belleair Road. The attempted robbery took place between the previous incidents but deputies said that the suspect did not steal merchandise or display a weapon.

The latest robbery occurred at the 7-11 convenience store at 1725 Drew Street around 2 a.m. Tuesday. A man in a red Ron Jon sweatshirt pulled over his face approached the clerk and demanded cash in a similar pattern as to the previous robberies.

The suspect told the clerk that he was armed with a weapon and was able to take cash out of the register. The suspect left the area in a car which was parked nearby, according to the report.

A search of the area did not reveal the suspect.

The suspect is described in the 7-11 robbery is a male 5-feet-5 inches in height with a thin build. He has a mustache and a pale complexion. He was wearing a red sweatshirt, jeans and gray-colored gloves.

In the previous robberies, the suspect was seen leaving in a silver four-door Nissan with a rear spoiler.
