DUNDEE, Ore. (KING5) -- Police revealed new details in the search for missing Oregon mom Jennifer Huston Tuesday, and said her husband has passed a lie detector test.
Jennifer Huston, 38 disappeared after leaving home in Dundee to run errands around 5:45 p.m. on July 24, 2014, according to a police timeline. She withdrew a small amount of cash from a local bank, bought a few items at a Rite Aid store, gassed up her SUV and then her cell phone stopped working a short time later. Her husband reported her missing to police on Friday.
Investigators said they have not found any evidence indicating a crime or threat to the public. Late Tuesday, investigators confirmed that Kallen Huston had passed a polygraph examination and was "cooperative through several interviews with police," according to Capt. Jeff Kosmicki with the Newberg-Dundee Police Department.
Police also determined that Huston had enough gas in her SUV to travel approximately 300-350 miles, after gassing up at the Circle K. Family members helped police pinpoint several of Huston's favorite places to visit within that radius and volunteers searched those areas Tuesday. This included the Bald Peak State Scenic Viewpoint, Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge and Champoeg State Park.
Investigators also released a new surveillance photo Tuesday, that showed Huston walking into a Rite Aid store the day she vanished. They said she bought a bottle of Gatorade, a package of trail mix and a package of sleep aid pills.
Major community support
Family members said the number of people who have come forward to help - friends and complete strangers - has been nothing short of amazing.
Katie Wilson, who lives in the area, said Dundee is a very small community where everyone pulls together.
"It definitely makes you realize there is some good left in the world, there's definitely a lot of good humanity out there. People are definitely getting involved," Wilson said. "We are very small so everybody is trying to find her, everybody wants to bring her home."
Huston was last seen driving a dark green 1999 Lexus SUV with Oregon License number WXH 011. She was wearing black yoga pants one the day she disappeared, along with a black zip-up sweatshirt and Nike tennis shoes that were black and pink. Anyone with information about her whereabouts was urged to call police at 503-538-8321.
Investigators have said they consider Huston's disappearance a missing person case, but her husband Kellan Huston and other family members said they're sure she would not have left on her own.
The family has been posting information on the Find Jennifer Huston Facebook page.
