NASHVILLE (AP) -- Kenny Chesney and Renee Zellweger's marriage annulment is fueling a lot of rumors, and Chesney's spokeswoman is doing her best to bat them all down.
In a statement, Chesney says the only reason for the annulment is "the miscommunication of the objective of their marriage at the start."
The statement goes on to state that the two "value and respect each other, and are saddened that their different objectives prevent the success of this marriage."
One of their big upsets is the public misunderstanding of the legal term "fraud" as the reason for the split.
Zellweger has released a statement saying the term "fraud" is "simply legal language and not a reflection of Kenny's character."
