Pasco deputy killed Lakeland man in Zephyrhills

Zephyrhills, Florida -- A Lakeland man was shot and killed by a Pasco County deputy on Tuesday while authorities were trying to arrest him for allegedly selling prescription pills.

Jerry Dwight Brown, 41, of 2337 Hamlet Circle, was shot about 4:30 p.m. at Big Ben's Tires, 4128 Gall Blvd., in Zephyrhills, according to the sheriff's office.

According to Sheriff Chris Nocco, deputies were tracking a violent drug suspect and there was an altercation where deputies were forced to fire, hitting one suspect.
