A Pasco County school resource officer was fired on Wednesday after he was accused of stalking a former girlfriend.
Russell Knieriem, 45, was arrested for stalking a former girlfriend, according to the sheriff's office.
He joined the sheriff's office inn 1999 and became an SRO in 2014 when he began serving at Fivay High School.
Knieriem, who has has been terminated, admitted calling, texting, harassing, emailing and driving by her house.
He and the woman lived together for six years, but she moved out and ended the relationship in May. He then began contacting her, she blocked his phone number, but then he sent emails. She said he then would drive by her house, which was witnessed by an investigator.
