Anclote High School is 10News School of the Week

Tammie Fields was on campus to congratulate students and watch them in action.

It’s Friday, so you know it’s that time of the week where we recognize a different school in Tampa Bay as 10News’ School of the Week powered by Duke Energy Florida. This isn’t just a pep rally, we are headed into the classrooms to showcase the great achievements of the students, faculty and staff. Every Friday we will be live from the school campus beginning at 5:30 a.m. and don’t forget to watch at 6 p.m. as well to catch the highlights from earlier in the day.

We’re happy to announce that our school this week is Anclote High School in Pasco County. Congratulations Sharks! Anclote has two great academies for the students and both offer certifications that can help these students get real world jobs in the respective fields. First is the Energy Academy that the lead instructor described as being a shop class for the next generation. Students learn woodworking, electric wiring, alternative energy, and both residential and commercial wiring. In the Health Academy, students who successfully pass the testing is a Certified Nursing Assistant. The students become proficient in 21 skills, but they also get hands-on experience with hours spent at a local nursing home. These students will also help at area middles schools with their health screenings. With all the great things Anclote students are doing, it’s easy to see why they are 10News School of the Week powered by Duke Energy Florida.
