PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office released the numbers and reports on DUI and traffic checks for the beginning of Labor Day weekend, starting from Sept. 2 - Sept. 3, 2016.
Deputies along with other local police departments conducted the "DUI Wolf Pack" operation in an attempt to lower the numbers of vehicle-involved deaths, damage, and injuries.
There were 28 criminal charges and 95 citations given during the operation, including the following:
2 Possession of a Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor)
2 Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony)
1 Resisting Arrest Without Violence
1 Fleeing and Eluding (Felony)
5 Driving While License Suspended and/or Revoked with Knowledge (Misdemeanor)
1 Driving While License Suspended and/or Revoked (Felony)
2 No Valid Driver's License
1 Other Misdemeanor
1 Burglary to Occupied Dwelling (Felony)
This operation was supported by Mother's Against Drinking and Driving (M.A.D.D.), Remove Intoxicated Drivers USA Inc(RID), and the Suncoast Safety Council.
PCSO will continue to do Wolf Pack operations and DUI checkpoints throughout the holiday weekend and throughout the year.
