St. Petersburg, Florida -- Wildlife officials removed a manatee that found its way into a St. Petersburg bayou.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission set up nets to help wrangle the sea cow. The small pond, just northeast of Clam Bayou, is out of the manatee's habitat, but the animal is uninjured.
The quick-moving manatee seemed to test the team, who were outsmarted a few times throughout the morning.
Finally by noon, officials were able to safely pull the manatee to shore. FWC plans to tag and release the manatee into the more open waters of Tampa Bay.
