Suspicious death investigation in Pinellas Park

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. -- The Pinellas Park Police have made an arrest following a suspicious death behind the Shoppes at Park Place located at 7310 U.S. Highway 19 N.

Two people were gathering cardboard around the dumpsters when an unresponsive person was found around 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. When police arrived at the scene, it was determined that the person had died.

According to police, the male was a victim of a homicide following blunt force. 

The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Will Joe Hodges and his family has been notified.

27-year-old Corey Dean Palmer Watkins was arrested on Sunday without further incident. He has been sent to the Pinellas County Jail for one count of second-degree murder. Officers are still investigating the reason for the murder.
