Temple Terrace, Florida -- Blood splattered on the walls isn't the only thing that tells a ghastly story inside Omega Pharmacy.
The daughter of pharmacist Akin-bo Bab-tunde, too scared to show her face or give her name, describes how her father was beaten almost to death.
"When he regained consciousness, he was able to crawl out and call 911, so those would be marks of him crawling. So that is his blood. There are blood prints all over," she said.
Cops say it was 25-year-old Brandon Walker who, at 8 p.m. Saturday, gained entry into Omega Pharmacy through a crawl space in the roof and cornered Bab-tunde.
"Using a commercial hole-punch machine he found inside the pharmacy, he battered the pharmacist very severely," said Temple Terrace spokesman Michael Dunn.
Cops say Walker only stole prescription drugs and fled. Fast forward to Monday morning, which started a fantastic chain of events.
"Walker, this morning, early this morning, was in a hit-and-run accident," said Dunn.
From there, police say the suspect got on a HART bus, sat down, and asked a man if he could use his cell phone. He made a call and gave the phone back. The passenger noticed a deep red mark on his face and asked how it got there.
Walker allegedly said, "A pharmacist bit me in the face."
"When he got off the bus, the passenger knew something wasn't right, and called the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office," said Dunn.
Investigators met with the passenger, traced the call, and tracked Walker to the Clarion Hotel on Fowler, where he was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
Babtunde remains in the hospital in serious condition, but he is expected to survive.
