Vehicle sought in connection to Polk City homicide

Law enforcement is searching for the victim's missing vehicle, believing his killer is driving it.

POLK CITY, Fla. - Investigators are searching for a vehicle taken from a home where one person was killed and another was seriously injured in what detectives believe was a robbery.

A blue two-door 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup belonging to the victim, with Florida handicap tag Z2SKD, was missing from the home, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. The vehicle has wooden fence rails on the back and shiny rims. The pickup may be in the Plant City area, Judd said.

Here's a picture of the actual vehicle:

"We are presuming at this point and time a murder suspect or suspects are in possession of this vehicle," he said.

Three people were flagged down by a man "bleeding profusely" on the 7400 block of Berkley Road at about 1:45 p.m., who said he was robbed and that someone else was hurt inside the home, Judd said.

Inside the home was a man who died "from a very violent death," Judd said.

The bleeding man was in surgery Wednesday afternoon and was in "extremely critical condition," Judd said.

Investigators have not released the names of the victims or how they died.

A $3,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the people in the Dodge Ram, Judd said.
