Pulse nighclub survivor found dead at Tampa home

A local who was at the club in June has died of unrelated causes.

A survivor from the Pulse Nightclub shooting had died according to friends after visiting for a birthday party in Tampa.

34-year-old Chris Brodman was found unconscious outside a home in the Tampa area.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office would not confirm the victim’s name but did say they were investigating the death of a man found unconscious at a home in their jurisdiction.

Back in June, just days after the shooting, Brodman spoke to Orlando CBS affiliate WKMG.

“I said run, just run, run, run and we all just ran out of the bar,” Brodman told reporters back in June.

Now just 3 months later Brodman is dead himself.  Hillsborough Sheriff's Deputies were first called to a home around 2:00 Sunday morning after receiving reports of an unconscious male.  There were no obvious signs of trauma to the body.

"It was supposed to be a fun night. They were supposed to go out there and just, you know have a fun night out there in Tampa," said friend and fellow Pulse survivor Orlando Torres.

In a post on Facebook Brodman's boyfriend posted:  "I still can't believe my baby is gone," "I can't sleep, I can't breathe, I don't know how I'm going to go on without him."

Friends are find it hard to accept Brodman was given a second chance at life only to pass away just months later.

“It's unfortunate this had to happen to someone so sweet and nice,” said Torres.
