Hernando County, Florida -- Human remains found at the West Hernando Transfer Station have been identified as that of a 33-year-old man.
Workers found the remains in one of the facility's bins about noon Thursday, and notified the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
While deputies were at the scene, workers saw the vehicle that dumped the remains return to the transfer station, according to the sheriff's office.
The driver said he and a friend were hired to clean out a house in Spring Hill. They found what they thought was a mannequin and took it to the dump, the sheriff's office said.
The facility was closed for the investigation, but it scheduled to reopen at 9 a.m. Friday.
