Road rage victim speaks out

LAND O' LAKES, Fla. -- A road rage victim speaks out about his horrifying experience.

Deputies say a man pulled a gun on two people, after he was brake checking the couple. It happened Sunday night in Land O' Lakes on State Road 54.

The two cars then turned into the Walmart on Land O' Lakes Boulevard.

The back of Jake Everitt's car was decorated with bullet holes. One of the bullets also lodged into his right arm

“It’s in there so deep. You can’t take it out,” says Everitt.

He says this is all from a road rage incident Sunday night near the Walmart along US 41 in Land O' Lakes.

“It happened very quick. He tried to run us off the road first,” says Everitt.

He says that's when the suspect pulled into the Walmart after them.

'All of a sudden, just boom; her whole car and my arm,” says Everitt.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says this dangerous suspect is still on the loose.

“Him shooting someone over a traffic incident is something were worried about,” says Sgt. Michael Rosa, with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Michael Rosa says unfortunately these type of road rage incidents are happening all too often.

“People are more violent and they are firing weapons more often,” says Everitt.

For Everitt, he just hopes that the man that caused all of this is caught soon so nobody else has to experience what he's going through.

Deputies say the suspect is driving a dark colored SUV.
