Sarasota City Commissioners to tackle noise ordinance

Sarasota, Florida-Sarasota City Commissioners will tackle a proposed noise ordinance on Monday one that may leave some downtown businesses making a lot of noise against it.

While the decibel levels would remain the same, the proposed ordinance bans any "plainly audible" noise heard within 200 feet between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Basically if one can hear it it's too loud and they would be in violation.

The fines would change from 250 dollars to as much as 5-thousand dollars a day.

City Commissioners meet on this issue Monday at 6 pm.
