HART resumes Route 9 to Seminole Heights after murder suspect caught

The idea that a cold-blooded killer is off the streets is giving some sort of comfort to people who have been living in fear in and around Seminole Heights.

SEMINOLE HEIGHTS, Fla. -- HART has resumed its normal operations following the capture of the suspect believed to be involved in the recent Seminole Heights murders.

Howell Emanuel Donaldson III, 24, is charged with four counts of felony first-degree murder in the killings of Benjamin Edward Mitchell on Oct. 9, Monica Caridad Hoffa on Oct. 11, Anthony Naiboa on Oct. 19 and Ronald Felton on Nov. 14.

HART will continue its service via Route 9 to 15th St. beginning at normal operating hours Thursday morning. 

The temporary detour was put in place in light of the recent shootings and went into effect Friday, October 20. 

HART relayed the following information: 

HART would like to thank the Tampa Police Department and all participating agencies for their tireless work and dedication during the ongoing investigation.  

During the past few weeks, HART partnered with law enforcement throughout the investigation and communicated safety information to our customers, both online and in print.
