Silent auction raise money for abused kids

St. Petersburg, Florida -- It's a program designed to help give abused kids a voice in the court system.

Guardian ad Litem volunteers help make sure abused, abandoned, and neglected foster children are properly represented in court when a judge decides their future.

Often, these kids are alone because of family circumstances they can't control.

Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bayteamed up withthe Kobie Marketing firm to host a silent auction that raised money for school supplies for these kids.

All proceeds raised at Thursday night's silent auction go to help the children.

UPDATE: The Kobie/GAL event raised over $8,000 Thursday night in combination from the silent auction, donations and 10% of the evening's sales donated from Ruby's Elixir.
