Silver Alert update for missing Winter Haven woman

Winter Haven, Florida -- UPDATE: Winter Haven Police have cancelled the Silver Alert for Lynda Sorrell. Police say they found a vehicle, matching the description of Sorrell's vehicle at the time she went missing, in a field at the corner of Havendale Boulevard and 21st Street Thursday morning. A deceased woman was located just outside the vehicle.

Detectives are conducting a full investigation and will release more details as soon as they become available.

Winter Haven Police are asking for the public's help locating 58 year-old Lynda Sorrell who was last seen at her Winter Haven home on April 7 at 7 p.m.

Police say Sorrell, who has a history of depression and early stages of dementia, has recently indicated that she wanted to harm herself. She does not have her medication with her.

Police and family are very concerned for her well being due to her current medical conditions and recent statements made to family.

She was last seen at 222 Lake Pansy Dr. in Winter Haven wearing a denim jumper with brown boots. She usually wears her hair in a ponytail and wears glasses.

She was last seen driving a gold 2005 Buick Rendezvous, Florida tag # CJX-5D The tag has a yellow frame around it and there is a Christian radio station sticker in the back window.
