Speedway convenience store robbed

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- A man who implied that he was armed with a weapon robbed a Speedway convenience store overnight Monday.

Police responded to an emergency call made around 3:20 a.m. for the incident at 2185 Drew Street.

The suspect, described as a white male, 5-feet-5 inches in height, entered the store and demanded cash from a clerk after saying he was armed. He left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He was wearing a blue hoodie or jacket, blue jeans, white shoes and gloves. Clearwater Police said the suspect left the scene in an older-model silver or gray four-door vehicle.
