St. Petersburg, Florida - A surprise retirement announcement today by St. Petersburg College President Carl Kuttler Jr.
The 69-year-old Kuttler has been president of the college since 1978. Kuttler did not give a reason for his abrupt departure, nor did he discuss a specific date for his retirement.
Members of the Board of Trustees were caught off guard and expressed sadness at Kuttler's retirement.
The board will meet next month to discuss a plan to select Kuttler's replacement.
