Tampa, Florida -- As an officer on the Tampa Police department, Perry Anderson has witnessed his share of DUI accidents.
The issue hit home three years ago when Anderson's 21-year-old cousin caused a head-on DUI crash. "He thought he was sober enough to drive home, and fell asleep at the wheel."
Luckily, no one was hurt. After the worry and anger subsided, Anderson came up with an idea to create a card to help people like his nephew get home safe.
It's called the Home Safe Card.
The Home Safe Card can be purchased online and comes in $25, $50 $75, $100 prepay denominations. The card is accepted anywhere Discover Card is accepted and is restricted for transportation like cabs, trains and even some bus lines.
"There is no excuse," said Anderson. " I didn't have any money, my check card didn't work. Now you have the means to make a good decision."
