
Largo, Florida -- The 2009 Tampa Bay Breast Cancer 3-Day is officially underway through Pinellas County. The morning started around 7:30 with an emotional ceremony honoring all those touched by breast cancer. Under a beautiful sunrise and the walkers got underway heading north up Clearwater Beach, and eventually over the bridge into downtown Clearwater.

1:00 p.m. Update:
All of the 1,500 walkers including Heather and Reg have now made it to the lunch stop at John Taylor Park in Largo. The stop is the 11 mile mark on Friday's scorching 22-mile long journey across Pinellas County. Temperatures are very HOT and walkers are having to focus on staying hydrated. There are numerous break, snack and water stops along the route.
