Tampa, Florida - The Week of the Family is a week long event taking place from November 1 through November 8 throughout the Tampa Bay area to celebrate families through
family friendly events, educational opportunities and activities.
The goal is to strengthen families.
The Week of the Family kicked off with a celebration of families on Sunday, November 1 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at MOSI, (Museum of Science and Industry).
MOSI opened it's doors to the community by offering free admission to everyone. It included live music by nationally known recording artist Tracy Williams formerly of PYT, as well as numerous other live musicians, dance groups, puppet shows, exotic animal demonstrations and family workshops.
After the kick off celebration, there will be a week of family friendly events. Click here to see the rest of the events that are planned this week.
Several organizations, including Busch Gardens, Lowry Park Zoo, Hillsborough County Libraries, Channelside Cinemas and many more have joined in this effort by hosting free or reduced admission events that are designed to provide more opportunities for families to spend quality time together, even during this difficult economic time.
