1 dead, 1 injured, in motorcycle crash in Clearwater

Clearwater, Floria -- Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. at 1828 Montclair Road.

Police say the passenger has died and the driver has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary information indicated the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve. The driver and his female passenger were ejected. 

Police said he was taken to Meese Dunedin Hospital with life threatening injuries.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Montclair Road was expected to be closed for several hours as police conduct the crash investigation.
