Tallahassee, FL-- Florida State has lost starting quarterback Christian Ponder for the rest of the season, with a separated shoulder. Ponder will have surgery to repair the shoulder, and his recovery time is at least 2 months. Ponder suffered the injury at the end of Saturday's game with Clemson. Ponder was the leading passer in the ACC.
Redshirt freshman E.J. Manuel will replace Ponder at quarterback, beginning with Saturday's game at Wake Forest. Manuel was coach Jimbo Fisher's prized recruit in his first recruiting class at FSU.
