Bomb squad called to Hillsborough Community College

Tampa, Florida - Tampa police were contacted about a suspicious package in the parking lot of Hillsborough Community College, Dale Mabry campus around 10:30 a.m.

The bomb squad was called to evaluate the situation.

A spokesperson at the school says that a wooden box looked suspicious, the bomb squad detonated it, and there was no secondary explosion.

The box was in the northwest corner of the parking lot and not near any buildings.

Classes were not disrupted.
