Bradenton, FL - Brittanee Drexel disappeared during spring break.

She was last seen back in April leaving a Myrtle Beach hotel on a trip she took without her parents' permission. Since then, her family in New York and Florida have been looking for her.

Her aunt Keri Drexel in Bradenton has been selling shirts, stickers, buttons and bracelets - all in hopes of getting the word out.

But now, Brittanee's case has the biggest billboard around as her face graces the cover of this week's People magazine.

"It brings tears to my eyes," said Keri Drexel.

Brittanee is one of only six children who vanished this year who are featured in the issue that hit news stands on Friday.

"We're very fortunate," said Drexel of the major magazine choosing to showcase her story.

So, why did People pick Brittanee?

The executive editor of People, Betsy Gleick told 10 Connects, "There's something about Brittanee's story that resonates to somebody who is a parent who thinks they have their teenager sort of well in hand. Her mother told her not to go somewhere, and her rebellious daughter went away on spring break and ignored what her parents said and disappeared. There's a quality to that story that is every parent's nightmare."

In a nightmare that never ends, loved ones like Keri, dream that this magazine makes a difference.
