Florida unemployment rate up again

Tallahassee, Florida --  Florida's unemployment rate is up again at 11.2 percent in October, according to the Agency for Workforce Innovation.  In September it was 11.1 percent. To put the latest numbers in perspective, that's 1,027,000 people looking for work in Florida.

The rate is even higher for the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater metro areas at 11.7 percent, which is down .1 percent from September.

Here is the county by county breakdown:

Hillsborough County:  October: 11.6% / September:  11.6%     Pinellas County:  October:  11.2% / September:  11.3%            Pasco County:  October:  12.5% / September:  12.7%              Polk County:  October:  12.5% / September:  12.8%          Manatee County:  October: 12.4% / September: 12.7%    Hernando County:  October:  13.8% / September:  13.9%      Citrus County:  October:  12.0% / September:  12.2%       Sarasota County:  October:  12.2% / September:  12.3%

The national unemployment rate is 10.2 percent.
