Oldsmar, FL -- Over the past week and a half, there have been several monkey spottings around the Bay area.
Today, Pinellas deputies and Fish and Wildlife officers armed with tranquilizer guns were out trying to find a 30 pound monkey near an Oldsmar apartment complex.
The primate was spotted around 2:00 p.m. Sunday near the Sable Palms Apartments. The monkey was seen in treetops and on rooftops around the complex.
Deputies say the monkey then entered a heavily wooded area and the search was cancelled after a couple of hours.
They say the monkey can be aggressive and suggest you not try to capture it but report any sightings to Florida Fish and Wildlife.
