The National Weather Service in Ruskin, FL has issued a Flood Watch for Pinellas, Hillsborough and Polk counties and all counties south and west of there until 11 p.m. tonight.

As a low pressure system and a series of fronts moves through later today and tonight, showers and storms will dump heavy amounts of rain across the area.  Rainfall amounts totaling 1-3" with locally higher amounts can be expected in the watch area.  Localized flooding is likely in the normal locations that are prone to flooding.

As of 9 a.m. this morning, rainfall totals from Key West to Sarasota have ranged between 2-5".

The rain will begin to taper off late this evening as a cold front moves through and temperatures drop.  Fore more on the forecast, click here.  For a look at the radar and more, go to www.forecastfirst.com
