St. Petersburg, Florida -  Are we all suffering from Amnesia? Most Americans are in credit card debt up to their eyeballs and we just celebrated the newest consumer-driven American holiday - Black Friday. From what I can gather, Black Friday is only a success if we charge more on our credit cards than last year. When you think about it, Black Friday is the equivalent of giving a compulsive gambler a ride to the track with the hope that they'll win enough to pay off their gambling debts and give up gambling for good...

Oh well, only in America... Have you seen the hottest toy of this holiday season? It's the Zhu Zhu -- a glorified mechanical hamster on wheels that when it's nose is pressed - makes the same annoying sound as real hamsters... The best part of the Zhu Zhu - batteries ARE included.

The phrase "Black Friday" has an ominous beginning. The recorded first use of the term occurred in September of 1864 when a stock-market panic was set off by a plunging gold prices.

It's current positive connotation has its genesis in the late 1960's when newspapers and television stations in Philadelphia began using it describe sales by retailers in the City of Brotherly Love.

Remember to tape those wrists before getting into the fray this Cyber Monday...
