Indian Rocks Beach, Florida - The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened on the Indian Rocks Beach Bridge around 6 p.m. Saturday night.

Investigators say 42-year-old Travis Eugene Fales of Brandon  was traveling eastbound in the median lane at a high rate of speed. At some point, they say, Fales lost control and his motorcycle tipped towards the left and slid into the concrete rail. Fales was thrown from his bike.

He wasn't wearing a helmet. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both eastbound lanes on the bridge were closed for about four hours but reopened around 10 p.m. on Saturday.
