Lutz, Florida -- Sadie's owners are from Michigan, but Sadie has ties to the Bay area.
Sadie is the eighth Scottie to take "Best in Show" at Westminster and over the years, has won more than a hundred shows.
"That's a big deal, that's a lot of traveling. She had to be on top of her form for every one of those shows, and she's a beautiful example of the breed," said Lois Bolding, owner of Bolding Kennels in Lutz.
Sadie is being talked about as being one of the best show dogs of all time and believe it or not, she has family here in the Bay area and her little brother "Chase" lives here in Lutz.
Chase is owned by Bolding Kennels in Lutz and is in training for a dog show this coming weekend in Lakeland.
"Chase is a bit of a challenge, much like Sadie when she was a puppy too. Very high energy. When you ask them to do something, they look at you, as if to say, 'Why?' " said Paul DeBene of Boulding Kennels.
Scottish Terriers are expected to be in demand after Sadie's victory.
"It's not a breed for every person, terriers in general are a little bit tougher than some other dogs. They're not lap dogs, they're high energy and they'll need some training and they'll need periodic grooming," Boulding said.
Chase will have to take a few runs to get to the final round. Two years ago, his sister Sadie got spooked at Madison Square Garden. Last year, she had an "accident" on the carpet.
The dog show will take place at the Sun and Fun property in Lakeland, and the entry fee is $27.
