Texting, cell phone lead to crash

New Port Richey, Florida - The Florida Highway Patrol says a girl was on her cell phone and crashed her car into a house in New Port Richey about a minute later.

It happened before 2 a.m. on the 4,200 block of Glissade Drive. No one was injured in the crash.  Two girls were in the car at the time.

Early estimates are about $20,000 in damage was done to the house.

Eggs were found in the back seat of the car.

10 Connects is hearing the girls were looking for a car that belonged to the passenger's boyfriend, because they apparently thought the boyfriend was cheating.

Deputies on scene tell 10 Connects the driver will be charged with careless driving.
