Scottsdale, AZ (Sports Network) - Yu Darvish struck out 11 batters in six
innings Friday night and the Texas Rangers topped the Colorado Rockies, 5-3,
in spring training.
Darvish, the coveted Japanese star who signed a six-year deal with the Rangers
in January, gave up three runs on six hits and a walk.
Josh Hamilton and Yorvit Torrealba had two RBI apiece in the win.
Jason Giambi belted a two-run homer off Darvish, one of his three hits, but
Rockies starter Jhoulys Chacin gave up five runs on nine hits in 6 1/3
innings.
