Bangkok, Thailand (Sports Network) - In Monday's lone main-draw match at the
Thailand Open, German Philipp Petzschner trounced Thai wild card Peerakiat
Siriluethaiwattan 6-1, 6-2 on the hardcourts at Impact Arena.
Seeded players Fernando Verdasco of Spain, Viktor Troicki, Jarkko Nieminen and
Aussie Bernard Tomic will be among those seeing first-round action on Tuesday.
The Serbian Troicki was a runner-up here in 2009, while the Finnish Nieminen
was a runner-up in 2010.
British star Andy Murray, who is not defending his title this week, whipped
American Donald Young in last year's Thailand Open finale. Young is also on
Tuesday's schedule in Bangkok.
The 2012 winner of this $551,000 event will collect $99,465.
