Eugene, OR (Sports Network) - Arsalan Kazemi finished with a game-highs of 20
points, five steals, and three blocks as the Oregon Ducks coasted to a 95-78
victory over the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners in a non-conference tilt at
Matthew Knight Arena.
Dominic Artis added 16 points and four assists for Oregon (6-1). Tony Woods
got into the mix with 15 points while Waverly Austin contributed 10 points.
Jeromie Hill paced UTSA (3-4) with 19 points and six rebounds. Michael Hale
III had a productive night with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field in
21 minutes of action before leaving with an injury. Kannon Burrage scored 17
points and dished out six assists in the loss.
UTSA led by six early on in the contest, but Oregon overcame the narrow
deficit to build a 51-40 advantage by halftime. The Ducks shot 57.1 percent
from the field and made 7-of-8 attempts at the charity stripe before the
intermission to climb on top.
The Roadrunners made 57.7 percent of their field goal attempts in the second
half, but Oregon shot 73 percent from the field to add onto its lead.
The Ducks outscored UTSA, 62-32, in the paint and added 33 points off of
turnovers to avoid their first home loss of the season.
