Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Tray Woodall scored a game-high 24 points as
he helped guide the Pittsburgh Panthers to a convincing 66-45 win over the
Duquesne Dukes at CONSOL Energy Center.
Woodall made 5-of-8 from three-point range, adding five rebounds for the
Panthers (8-1). Lamar Patterson scored 13 points and Steven Adams contributed
eight points and 14 rebounds in the victory.
The Dukes (4-4) were paced by Sean Johnson who scored 13 points but shot only
4-of-13 from the floor as the team had a three-game win streak snapped.
Pittsburgh made 5-of-10 from beyond the arc while holding the Dukes to a mere
2-of-12 from three-point range, giving the Panthers a 29-17 lead at
intermission.
Duquesne made some progress in the second half hitting 33.3 percent from the
floor, but the Panthers were 56 percent from the field, including 4-of-7 from
long range to capture the double-digit win.
Pittsburgh dominated the glass, 49-33, and held the Dukes to only 31.6 percent
shooting from the field on the night.
