Hanies City, Florida -- A man with multiple charges against him fled a routine traffic stop which led to his arrest.
Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested David Boone who had a warrant for his arrest for numerous charges.
According to reports, Boone was driving in Davenport just before midnight on March 15 when deputies initiate a traffic stop. Boone continued to drive and tried to flee the deputies. Boone's vehicle eventually became disabled and he continued to run on foot. Reportedly, deputies continued to follow him on foot and deployed a taser on Boone which stopped him.
Boon was taken to Heart of Florida Hospital and was treated for minor injuries. He was then booked at the Polk County Jail. He is being held on no bond for the following charges:
- Aggravated fleeing to elude
- Aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer
- Possession of meth
- Possession of paraphernalia
- Resisting arrest
- Grand theft of motor vehicle
