Officials say this American Staffordshire terrier attacked and injured an 8-year-old girl.
PROGRESS VILLAGE, Florida - An 8-year-old girl is back home after she was attacked by a dog over the weekend.
Paramedics from Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a report of a dog attacking the child at 3210 Lancaster Lane in Progress Village around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
They say the girl suffered serious injuries from the attack and had to be rushed to a trauma center.
Hillsborough County Animal Control was called to the scene to investigate. The dog, identified as a male American Staffordshire Terrier, was taken away be animal control.
No one else was hurt, and authorities are continuing their investigation.
