Sarasota, Florida -- Sarasota Police and a K-9 unit helped catch a man trying to sell 6 pounds of marijuana.
During a shift on Tuesday, June 4, Officer Sean Gleason and K-9 Hixon responded to a request for a K-9 assist at 17th Street and US 301.
Upon arrival, they found a vehicle that had been stopped. K-9 Hixon walked around the vehicle and alerted to the rear of the vehicle.
According to reports, a search revealed six large bags of what is believed to be marijuana, possibly 5-6 pounds. The driver, Darryl Brookins, was also in possession of approximately $6,000 in U.S. currency.
Brookins was arrested and charged with marijuana possession with intent to sell.
