TALLAHASSEE, Florida (AP) — People who supply alcohol to underage drinkers could lose their driving privileges as the result of a bill that Governor Jeb Bush signed into law today.

The measure would let judges order the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to revoke or suspend violators' licenses for three to six months for a first offense and up to a year for subsequent violations. That would be in addition to existing criminal penalties. It takes effect October first.

Among the 19 bills Bush signed, one will expand the definition of a sexual offender or predator to include anyone convicted of buying or selling a minor into sex trafficking or prostitution, effective July first.

The new law also requires those designated as sexual offenders or predators to register only at the sheriff's office in their county of residence, eliminating the option of registering with the state.
