St. Petersburg, Florida - The Amazing Race kicks off it's 23rd edition. And this time, one of the eleven teams are local, sort of.
The Rays recently acquired outfield David DeJesus and he has been a great success for the team. While he is helping the team win games, his wife, Kim DeJesus will be portrayed on the Amazing Race.
Kim is a mother, a baseball wife, an actress and now a world traveler.
She and her best friend, another baseball wife, Nicky Getz, wife of former White Sox player Chris Getz, teamed up to be on the latest edition of Amazing race.
They travel four continents, nine countries across the span of one month.
Kim says she and Nicky always wanted to do the show and she was excited to travel with her best friend.
Now, Kim says while she is the adventurous type, she did have some real fears going in.
"I have sticks for arms I was worried about the physical tasks, but I held my own," she says.
Despite any fears, she and her husband, Rays David DeJesus, knew this was a great opportunity and she says it was a great experience.
Kim also told us one of the hardest things about doing this show was leaving her three-year-old son.
And when Kim returned from taping Amazing Race, David was traded from the Cubs to the Nationals and then few days later, traded to Tampa.
Amazing Race airs Sunday at 8 p.m. on channel 10.
