Pinellas County, Florida -- St. Petersburg shines the spotlight on its vibrant arts and cultural scene with a celebration of the arts featuring the annual ArtsAlive 2013 Free Museum Day on Saturday, September 28.
For this once-a-year event, admission is free to several museums and cultural attractions in St. Petersburg - designated the #1 Arts Destination among mid-size cities and America's Top ArtPlaces 2013.
ArtsAlive Free Museum Day hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and participating venues include:
- The Dr. Carter G. Woodson Museum
- Florida Holocaust Museum
- Museum of Fine Arts
- St. Petersburg Museum of History
- The Dali Museum
- Creative Clay Cultural Art Center
- Morean Arts Center
- Morean Glass Studio and Hot Shop
- Morean Center for Clay
- The Chihuly Collection on Beach Drive.

For more free downtown art experiences, visitors may drop in at any of the many galleries (see list atwww.stpetearts.org). The Florida Craftsmen Gallery, where there is never an admission fee, will offer a special gift shop discount of 10 percent off with a minimum purchase of $25 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on September 28 only. The Morean Glass Studio and Hot Shop features live artist demonstrations at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The city encourages visitors to park in city garages downtown and ride the St. Petersburg Trolley Downtown Looper or Central Avenue Trolley. The trolleys will be stopping at or near most downtown ArtsAlive venues.
