Clearwater, Florida -- When she walked into the room at Ruth Eckerd Hall, they began clapping. The crowd stood on their feet to give Katie Couric a standing ovation.
A packed house came to hear her tell her story about her husband's death, and her fight to save others from colon cancer.

Couric also held a closed-to-the-media town hall meeting to find out what viewers want to see on the evening news. Couric's next stop is Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas.
After her appearance at Ruth Eckerd Hall, Katie spent the afternoon with the staff of Tampa Bay's 10 and www.tampabays10.com . She had lunch in the newsroom and spent the day working with us and taking our questions. You can see pictures right here.
