TAMPA, Florida (AP) — Defense lawyers have more time to prepare in the capital murder trial of the man accused of killing eleven year-old Sarah Michelle Lunde in Ruskin last year.

The trial for David Lee Onstott was set to begin next month, but the circuit judge ruled for the trial to begin March 12th.

Onstott's lawyer told the judge he plans to seek a change of venue for the trial.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for the registered sex offender who has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and attempted sexual battery.

Sarah's body was found in an abandoned fish pond near the family's home.

Although prosecutors say Onstott admitted his guilt to investigators, jail staff and his mother, court documents show there's little physical evidence linking him to the crime.
