St. Petersburg, Florida - Parents do as much as they can to protect their children. So, you can imagine how a mother felt when her 3-year-old son was killed in a car accident even though he was buckled up.
She put together a touching video that's been seen by more than a million people on the popular website, youtube.com.
Kyle was sitting in a booster seat and buckled in with the vehicle's seatbelt. They were hit by another car and Kyle's mother says the belt's latch came loose. His sister was sitting next to him in an identical booster seat but she survived.
They believe Kyle would have survived had he been in the harness style car seat even though he was above the recommended weight limit.
The video has become so popular all children's hospital says they've received numerous calls from concerned parents.
In response they're holding a free car seat safety check. It’s Tuesday, from 8:30am until 5:30pm in the All Children's parking lot. That’s at 800 4th Street South, St. Petersburg.
Parents are encouraged to make an appointment, by calling (727) 767--4188.
