Pensacola, Florida - A Pensacola man is charged with using an online social network to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old girl for a sexual relationship.

Escambia County authorities say 22-year-old Steven McLendon was arrested over the weekend after going to a movie theater to meet the teen.

The teen was actually a sergeant with the sheriff's department who McLendon allegedly contacted on MySpace.com.

Authorities say in an online message to the girl, McLendon wrote, "I do have morals, you know, because under seven is nasty."

The messages also reportedly suggested the two engage in sexual activity.

McLendon is charged with promoting sexual activity with a child younger than 16, lewd and lascivious behavior and use of a computer to seduce or solicit a child.

He's being held at the Escambia County jail under a $20,000 bond.
