Jacksonville, Florida (AP) — Authorities from a terrorism task force closed off a 10-block downtown area today after a man made a bomb threat.

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokesman says the bomb squad and the Department of Homeland Security were called to investigate, but no bomb was found.

A witness called authorities around 11:45 a.m. to report a man who was behaving strangely in the middle of the street.

The sheriff's spokesman says the man made a bomb threat and was speaking in Arabic, which an officer at the scene recognized.

The man, who was not identified, is being questioned by police. Charges are pending.

Evidence technicians are still processing the scene.
